Official Yay Me post.

Well, it is the third week of January. This week, I have finished the Bloodkin Timeline (although I still want to make a prettier version in Smartdraw) and I finished Happy Endings (aka Teal'c and Vala's fic) chapter six. Actually, it was close to being done anyway. But whatever, I got it done.

Happy Endings 6 was due this week. The Bloodkin timeline was due the week after next. Brain is poking me to start working on an actual chapter of Bloodkin, but I have only outlined up to the first half of Book 2. My plan was to finish the ENTIRE outline. (Which is now...seventeen books, I believe. *headdesk*) before going any further in the writing. Brain says that since I know everything that happens in Book 1 I might as well start, since I'd probably have to re-outline Books 2-17 later to account for changes in Book 1.

It has some degree of a point. I view an outline as a general guideline for a story. I look at it from time to time to make sure that I haven't neglected any of the major plot points or arcs, but it's not sacrosanct--as evidenced by the number of times that my One Path outline has been ripped apart to accommodate the wonderbrat when she likes to write herself instead of letting me do it.

At the same time, though, there's a lot of material in the later books that I really should write down before I forget or lose it. So I don't know if I will or won't write chapter 1 this week. Still trying to get the SG muse to actually work on one of my AUs. It'd be nice, y'know. There are some chapters of One Path in the wings; I'd like to finish this arc before posting, though. I think readers will understand why when the finished arc hits the web. (if you don't believe me, I'm sure aruna7 and nrgbunny would be happy to attest to the fact that a cliffhanger would be a bad thing right now. Readers may of course get a few overnight cliffies anyway. With the number of chapters coming, I will probably post in small sets over the course of a few days.

Also finished a new vid tonight. It will be uploaded to my vid page soon (thanks, Aruna. ;)) but here's the sendspace link for polgarawolf and whoever else can't get it to work from there. I'll do a MU link too I guess for the ones who can't get sendspace to work. *facepalm*

As for outline, I think that indeed you should put the big things down anyway, cause even if we both perfectly know that brats never behave, there are limits... Kind of... whatever... lol

Sounds like you're being extremely productive either way, with or without the brain's (or the plot-bunnies-o'-doom's) cooperation. (I saw the pretty for Shmi and Jareth! Very nice, Dar! You always make the pretties pics, hon!) But I second the notion to get down what you can about what you know is coming in books 2-17 before any of it can escape. Even though the brat muses will likely mutiny on you at some point and take over and start writing things completely differently than what you think they're going to be like in book 1, at least you'll have all the basic ideas down somewhere (even if you only go back to look at them and laugh and go, "Yeah, that sure won't work now. Thanks a bunch, bunnies!")
