*Nods* I'm a sucker for things that are pretty (I have a weakness for costume dramas), so the visually appealing part definitely is a lure.

*Nods* That sounds right. Whatever it was, it didn't follow the storylines right. A friend kept insisting and insisting that I needed to watch it, so I tried, but it just didn't feel right, you know? The older movie may not be perfect, but that's the one I grew up with, and even though a lot is cut out or squished together oddly or altered to make things easier for people unfamiliar with the book to follow or to get, it still feels like Dune. This other thing didn't, really (it felt more like somebody who was making something based on having seen the old movie and read a synopsis of the series and having thought using some of the same ideas would generate a lot of watchers and therefore money for the studio).

*Agrees about the Baron and carefully hugs Alia*

*Nods* That makes sense. And I imagine, too, that they probably wanted to be as different visually as possible from the old film without changing things too much from the actual book.

*Adds this to list of things to watch*
