he'd stayed this cute

Okay, I finished TPM, the last installment of my Star Wars Prequel Trilogy icon set. Breaking it into five posts to make it vaguely dialup friendly. Yes, I suck. No, I didn't mean to do this many. If you still have me on your flist, you've probably realized this is the way my icon sprees tend to go by now. I will do the OT. I don't know when, though--probably when One Path gets that far and I need icons.

712 icons total, approx. 160 per posts, except one that's shorter. A few vague fic-related spoilers.

#131-134 are great! I must ask a question: What does OTP stand for? I must sound really ignorant, but I've always wondered.

[identity profile] so-out-of-ideas.livejournal.com 2007-03-26 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Not ignorant at all. Everyone asks that question once in their fandom lives. lol. It stands for One True Pairing. Of course, I tend to have more than one OTP per fandom, as in the case of SW, I have three.

Obidala, Qui-Gon/Shmi, and Han/Leia

Any time.

Shmi's smile is pure joy. I can't look at that without smiling.

You know, the lighting sometimes manages to pretty much hide how inconsistent Lucas was in TPM with Obi-Wan's hair color, compared to AotC and RotS . . . He looks almost gilded/haloed in some of those pictures.

*Snickers at the Obi-Wan does puzzled/startled now icons*

I love that smile, when Padme's looking up. I think I'll be seeing that image in my head, when I think of her smiling, from now on . . .

(I'm still really tempted to pull Qui-Gon's beard.)

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-24 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I do too. *Sighs with you* I think of all of the canon deaths, I probably regret hers just about the most.

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I would mind it nearly so much if it weren't for the fact that she gets abandoned there and no one ever tries to do anything for her. Denning ret-conned it so that Qui-Gon somehow managed to figure out a way to send her something that could lead to her freedom, but I've never quite forgiven the people of Naboo for not trying to do something for her. After the war it might take a while for the economy to recover, sure, but Padme's a conscientious person, and you'd think she would have made it a point to try to do something for Shmi, if only by hiring someone to go to Tatooine to free her and offer her a home on Naboo, out of gratitude for the part Shmi played in seeing to it that Padme got to Coruscant safely (by allowing Anakin to race) and getting Anakin to Naboo to blow up that droid control ship (by allowing Qui-Gon to take him).

[identity profile] so-out-of-ideas.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! The whole premise of our "other AU" project, aside from Qui-Gon going back for her is that Padme makes a point to the people of Naboo that Shmi needs to be freed.

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
*Giggles* Okay, I give up, great minds really do think alike! *Lol!*

[identity profile] so-out-of-ideas.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I won't mention the blooper scene I thought up where Padme, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Anakin picket Watto's shop with "Free Shmi" signs.

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
*Snerk* If it makes you feel better, I have mental blooper scenes from TPM involving Padme and Sabe getting their lines mixed up and calling each other the wrong names and having head-dresses fall off, and Qui-Gon getting fed up with trying to deal with Watto, finding the nearest gambling house, waving a hand to fix a game, and plunking down a small fortune for Anakin, Shmi, and the ship parts (along with a few choice comments about Watto) that not even Watto can bring himself to refuse.

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Coming up with possible bloopers or funny alternate takes of scenes are my way of keeping myself from going nuts when watching movies like these, where the alternative would be to pull out handfuls of hair over things or just cry.

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
It helps, a little. Plus, there's the stress-relieving factor of figuring out 99 different ways to kill off Palpatine, accidental like, in the first half of RotS, so Anakin doesn't fall to the Dark Side.

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
*Grins back at you widely* Palpatine got thrown down the gaping hole of the turbolift, smashed under falling debris during gravity shifts, accidentally skewered by a MagnaGuard, and blown out the front of the ship when Grievous destroyed the transparisteel viewport to escape more times than I should probably admit to, in my head.

[identity profile] so-out-of-ideas.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Mwhahahahaha. I just wanted Anakin to kick him accidentally and have him lose his grip...

[identity profile] polgarawolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
*Snicker* Well, he grabs onto Obi-Wan's boot and dangles from it at one point, and Obi-Wan was still rather fuzzy from being unconscious, so . . . well, let's just say, Palpy went down the hole. *Snerk*
