I love my grandpa.

Breaking off the One Path discussion for a moment, I would like to say I love my grandpa. I thank God for my grandparents who had the wisdom to show me their faith in real life, real time, every day.

Psalm 23 - - EXPLAINED -
This is an eye opener.. Some probably never thought nor looked at
this Psalm in this way... even though they may say it over and over
again .-
-
The Lord is my Shepherd-
That's Relationship!-
-
I shall not want-
That's Supply!-
-
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.-
That's Rest!-
-
He leadeth me beside the still waters.-
That's Refreshment!-
-
He restoreth my soul-
That's Healing!-
-
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness.-
That's Guidance!-
-
For His name sake-
That's Purpose!-
-
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.-
That's Testing!-
-
I will fear no evil.-
That's Protection!-
-
For Thou art with me-
That's Faithfulness!-
-
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me,-
That's Discipline!-

-
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.-
That's Hope!
-
Thou anointest my head with oil,-
That's Consecration!-
-
My cup runneth over.-
That's Abundance!-
-
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my =
life.-
That's Blessing!-
-
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord.-
That's Security! -
-
Forever-
That's Eternity!-

I've read this before, but can't remember where I saw it. Thanks for posting this. Always good to keep that in mind! sounds like you had excellent grandparents :)

lol, icon.

I've read it before too, but my grandpa just sent it to me and I was like "You know...this is so much an example of what I love about them."

I know so many people who see religion in general and sadly Christianity in particular as a list of rules and regulations which are enforced by leadership that is hypocrital, bigoted, and largely clueless in regard to the lives of real people. I guess that was my viewpoint for a while too, despite the excellence of my grandparents. But when they could have been all in my face about it, they chose to accept me unconditionally. That, in turn, laid the groundwork for me to figure things out myself. So yeah. Anyway, glad you enjoyed.

That's really cool that your grandparents are like that...so many people in that generation aren't and the following generations really just want to be accepted and not judged..which really is what Christianity is all about...Jesus didn't go out seeking the most accepted people, he went after the prostitute, the tax collector, and other people - so we should all follow his example...but too many don't and too many are judgemental. so it's extra cool that you have people like your grandparents in your life!

That's great - do you know who wrote it originally?

It's so good that you appreciate your grandparents. I was very close to my maternal grandparents while growing up (the paternal ones died before I was born). Unhappily they both died while I was away in the AF and I couldn't get home for their services. I treasure the time that I spent with them and still regret not being able to say that final "goodbye". I am, however, looking forward to saying "hello" again to them in time.

Unfortunately I don't know who wrote it. Max Lucado did something similar with the Beatitudes, but more in depth.

Thanks for sharing it!! I was really glad to read it, and you're going to call me insane, but for me it can still be related to One Path discussion, because what we are and what we believe in is part of the creative process we go through *hugs*

agreed. *hugs back*
