PRAISE GOD! THE TABLE GENERATOR WORKS!

I'm so not kidding. Dudes, this has been like the worst day I've had in a really long time. Bad news on top of bad news on top of idiots on top of inability to write...

So. The last thing I wanted to discover when I decided that I had no energy to figut with writer's block and no actual artistic inspiration was that the Icon Table Generator's server was going wonky.

Well, after I finished coding these by hand once, we had a brief power outage and I lost everything I'd done. I then sat around growling for a while, but finally decided that I was going to click the link again just to see...

Lo and BEHOLD. It works. So now I can post icons and feel like I have at least accomplished one very small thing today.

These icons are from a pair of companion vids aruna7 did on LotR called "If You Wait For Me" and "A Place For Me." They're only the second LotR icons I have done, the first being an Aragorn set I did back when I first got into icon making, and those weren't that great. So, for all intentst and purposes this is my first DECENT set of LotR icons. Hope you enjoy.

Heh. Well, the oldest Nicky's gotten is like 8...in a few of one-shot "sequels" I've written. Between One Path and the way the show was cancelled, the "real" sequel to RH has sort of been derailed.

RH was written mid-season nine, supposing that Vala had been able to destroy the Ori supergate and then ring back to the ship she'd been on instead of what happens in canon. So, really, to understand the AU, all you'd really need to watch is, say 8x12 (Prometheus Unbound) and then 9x01-9x05. It doesn't really deal much with the plot of s9 since I had no idea how the Ori thing was going to be resolved, and s10 wasn't even in the works yet. All you'd need is like the characterization on Vala that you get in those early s9 episodes, because once I get them dating in that fic, I sort of jump ahead and just presume that the Ori aren't an issue in the future.

(The sequel fic was supposed to do sort of what One Path does and re-write the Ori conflict, supposing that they eventually establish a second supergate some 15 years later, which they do only in a matter of months in canon. But...as mentioned...it hasn't gone anywhere since the show was cancelled, and then One Path sort of started eating into my fic time.)

Yes, but Elijah is just too darn cute for his own good! Irregardless of age. He was an absolutely adorable little kid and he was an adorable hobbit whose hair I always wanted to brush back out of his eyes. Radio Flyer made me bawl when I was a kid, and I remember that little boy's hearbreaking eyes always half hidden behind his hair every time I see him in anything, and my first instinct is to brush that hair back and then save him. (Yes, I'm silly. I apparently starting collecting actors as well as characters from movies/books from an early age.) Daniel would take care of Elijah Nicky, so that's a wonderful mental pairing, for me.

Ori . . . these are the things that have to do with the Arthur/Merlin stuff I've heard about for the first of the seasons I haven't watched yet, right? *Makes mental note about what I'd need to watch, goes to open Netflix site to put things in queue*

The Ori are like evil versions of the Ancients, basically, but yeah there's a lot of convoluted references to Merlin and Arthur in s10. None of that comes into play until much later in s9, so there isn't any reference to it in RH anyway.

*Nods* Okay. I'm sketchy on all of this stuff, of course, because I didn't watch things knowing Jack wasn't going to be on the show and etc., but it's hard to be a fan of the show and not pick up some bits and pieces of random things. The idea of these things kind of makes my head hurt, from the little I know, so I'm actually kind of glad they don't really figure in the fic.

Heh. Let me know if you have trouble finding the beginning. I think I laid it out pretty well in my table of contents for the comm it's on, but there's a lot of interconnected small parts to the AU.

BTW, it occurrs to me that you haven't seen the eps and therefore might not know what I was even talking about. *facepalm* But anyway. I have a link to a site that has episode transcripts if you want it. Might be slightly easier than trying to get hold of the episodes.
