New Poem
This is pretty much an encapsulation of my life over the past maybe nine years or so. It's raining today, guess that's where it came from. *shrug* Read it if you want.

.
Swallowing
I have seen you calm the storm
When wind like razors cuts my flesh
And freezes in my lungs to rob me of my breath.
When rain is fierce and driving
Lightning tears the sky
And thunder shakes the earth.
I have seen you come
Mighty warrior to battle back my monsters
And I have seen you cut them down
Death and demons, lies and men
All have fallen to your blade
I have heard the lion roar
And you have snatched me in your jaws
When the earth split to swallow me
Wind whipping, you carried me to higher ground.
And I have felt the cold and rain
I have seen the earth dissolve
And sucked in the sea
Fighting for breath as I sank beneath the flood.
I have cried out to you and heard no answer.
I have gone hungry reading promises of provision.
I have felt the whip speaking words of your devotion.
I know of broken bodies, shattered spirits, needs unmet.
And I have raged against you.
The flood carries me to Golgotha
Where the sky is dark and I behold the women weeping.
I behold your body broken, and I touch your blood.
You have stood in the storm beside me
You have felt your flesh torn from your bones and borne the weight of death upon your broken back.
You have hungered, you have thirsted
You have died, and you have risen.

Reminds me of one one of my favorite verses.
"For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need." Phil 4-13
