...every day was this productive....
Yep. It's icon/texture spree this weekend. Whoo! I did also manage to finish a fic for
sg_challenges earlier in the weekend, too, but I forgot to post because I ended up in one of my famous 4 hour phone conversations, so I'll start with that.
It's my second attempt at an Atlantis fic, and VERY fluffy. Meant as a sequel to Hands although the events in that story aren't really mentioned. Go figure.
Title: The Final Rose
Author: Lionchilde
Summary: AU It was only as she slid into the chair and picked up the note that she actually registered that there was a rose still missing.
Rating: G
Length: 860 words
Pairing: Sparky
Genres: Ever so fluffy...
A/N: Set sometime post Season 2, so it will be AU once Season 3 starts. ;) Meant as a sequel to Hands Written for

The Final Rose
The first rose was taped to the door of her apartment. Elizabeth almost didn’t see it, rushing out with hair still wet from the shower, but she didn't hear the familiar hiss of it sliding shut behind her, and she craned her neck with an impatient cluck. She felt herself flush from head to toe at the sight of a long-stemmed rose, red as blood, affixed with Scotch tape to the door. There was no note, but she didn’t need one
He met her in the hall on her way to the commissary, but his hands were conspicuously empty. Glancing at the rose, he raised an eyebrow, and she felt herself blush again.
"Someone left it on the door," she said, hiding a laugh.
"Hey, now that's a great idea. Wish I’d thought of it,” he grinned as they walked inside together.
On their way to the table, they passed Carson, who handing out heart-shaped candies with messages like “Cutie Pie” and “Be Mine”. Spotting them, he quickly bent to pick something up off the chair beside him and walked over, presenting her with another rose.
"Happy Valentines' Day, Elizabeth," he said with a perfectly straight face.
"Carson!" she exclaimed, willing to play along. "You're my secret admirer?"
"Oh, um…hum…" he shot a nervous look at Sheppard.
"Maybe not," the Colonel grinned, pointing to their customary table, where another rose was waiting. Elizabeth hid a laugh and walked slowly over to add it to her collection.
She found another on the door to her office, and inside, but there was a large, crystal-cut vase on the desk. All it contained was another single rose, and she sighed, unsure whether to be touched or annoyed. Even after she added the four she was carrying, it looked pitifully empty. By the end of the day, she was sure it wouldn’t be, and she couldn’t quite tell whether her stomach was tightening with anticipation or dread at the prospect of being the center of everyone’s attention as roses appeared everywhere.
"You got more?' his voice bubbled with badly suppressed laughter.
"As if you didn’t know!' her head shot up to find him leaning indolently in the doorframe.
"Well, what’s that supposed to mean?" he raised his eyebrows.
"How about you just give them all to me now?" she asked without much hope.
"Well," he said, pushing himself away from the door, “if I had a bunch of roses to hand you, I’d do that.”
"But you don’t."
He grinned, saying nothing, and moved to the desk, perching sideways on the end of it.
"I’ll give you your present now," she offered.
"You got me a present?"
"It is Valentine’s Day."
"Right,” he chuckled, as she reached into the top drawer of her desk to pull out a small box of chocolates that she'd smuggled back aboard the Daedalus on her last trip to Earth.
"Hey, isn't the guy supposed to give chocolate?" he asked.
"You'd prefer a tie?" Elizabeth arched her eyebrow.
"Not at all," he grinned, accepting the gift. He looked down at the white cardboard for a moment, then slowly back at her. "Thank you, Elizabeth."
A rose arrived with a group of Athosian visitors from the mainland. No note was attached, but Elizabeth silently took it and slipped into the vase on her desk. Her cheeks flushed, but the delight was almost enough to wash out the embarrassment, and she couldn’t tell which feeling had brought the color to her cheeks.
Later, she found one waiting in the briefing room. She shot him a hard look, but it melted when, again without a word, he laid the bloom in her hands. She only put it down once throughout the entire meeting.
There was another in the commissary at lunch, and then one in Rodney's lab. After that, though, she didn't see another one, and had to admit that she was rather disappointed. Nine seemed a strange number; once the first three appeared, she had expected not to end the day with less than a dozen, and the continuous appearance of more had seemed to prove her right. When she got back to her quarter and found nothing else awaiting her outside, she resolved to put the entire thing out of her mind. He was sure to pull something with the last three, but she couldn’t imagine what, and she decided it would be better for her peace of mind if she didn’t try.
When she walked inside, though, she let out a little gasp of surprised delight. There on the table, she could see another pair of roses beside a simple white card. Elizabeth smiled and walked over to them, feeling her breath catch in her throat. It was only as she slid into the chair and picked up the note that she actually registered that there was a rose still missing. The note was only a single line, followed by his initials, and as she traced them gently with a fingertip, Elizabeth felt a tear slip down her cheek.
I'll keep the last one until I can give it to you face to face.

Now the icons.
110 Michael Shanks for
stargate_abcs. All themes, AC, plus 60 alternates in the second table. Note, the ones that look like Daniel in the "Alternates" table are from Scifi Lowdown when Michael was being interviewed.
These should make
martyfan happy...hehe.

Alternates
12 Ronon/Teyla from Epiphany. Nothing really spoilery, I don't think.

And now my favorites! 19 icons inspired by my fic series Rediscovered Hearts. Mostly Vala, some D/V. Ok, ok, they're s9 promo pics, but I was feeling inspired by the fic when I made them...and to me, the whole "Nobody's Victim" thing is not only the essence of Vala in RH, but I realized that it's what won me over to Vala in the first place. She's different from any of Daniel's other serious love interests that way.
Anyway...icons...
Oh, and I almost forgot. I told Sarah I was going to make Clark icons this morning, did a batch of Smallville and discovered they were predominantly Martha/Lionel. o.O So, I went back and did more.
The result was 60 icons from the episode Cyborg. Possible spoilers, so no teasers.
