Wow. Here we go. I'm kinda nervous, but I've finally started the sequel to Rediscovered Hearts and The Promise of Thorns. As I've mentioned in the intros to my last few fics, this is an SG-1/Atlantis crossover series. It will probably be as long as RH, although I never plot successfully by chapter, only by events. I know that RH was 47 chapters, total, but how many this series will have depends basically on how long it takes me to tell the story as it fits into the prompts on the challenge communities I'm a part of. I'm nervous for a couple of reasons. RH was well received,but it was an accident. This time I actually intend to create a long series, whereas at the time I wrote RH it was meant to be a two part story. Yes, really.

There are still some kinks to be worked out with the RH community that was supposed to start housing my Daniel/Vala fic, so for now I guess I'll just post these here and continue linking to the version of RH that's archived on the D/V archive. Since The Promise of Thorns is only archived here for now, I'll link to the chapters. It's only seven and a short series.

For anyone who missed the beginning of this tale, Edmindos and Lynae are/were a pair of OC lovers that I revamped for stargatefangurl's fantasy RPG, called Eternal Fire so I don't know if this story should be categorized as fanfiction or original work or what. In any case, the story serves as an introduction to them and their world, a completely original place called Aterium. I've tried to write the story just as I would the beginning of a new novel or something, so anyone who'd like to read shouldn't be confused. (If there is something you "don't get", it's a safe bet to assume that's because I plan on explaining it in the next chapter.)

A very brief glossary of terms.

Adept= A minor deity.
Circle, The= The Seeker's Council; the governing body of Mt. Albur.
Danar= A gold coin, the most common currency in Aterium.
Ethardis=The Capital City of Aterium.
Mt. Albur= The home of the Seekers
Rogue= A mercenary.
Seeker= A wizardish sort, bonded to an Adept.

Yep. It's icon/texture spree this weekend. Whoo! I did also manage to finish a fic for sg_challenges earlier in the weekend, too, but I forgot to post because I ended up in one of my famous 4 hour phone conversations, so I'll start with that.

It's my second attempt at an Atlantis fic, and VERY fluffy. Meant as a sequel to Hands although the events in that story aren't really mentioned. Go figure.

And now my favorites! 19 icons inspired by my fic series Rediscovered Hearts. Mostly Vala, some D/V. Ok, ok, they're s9 promo pics, but I was feeling inspired by the fic when I made them...and to me, the whole "Nobody's Victim" thing is not only the essence of Vala in RH, but I realized that it's what won me over to Vala in the first place. She's different from any of Daniel's other serious love interests that way.

Oh, and I almost forgot. I told Sarah I was going to make Clark icons this morning, did a batch of Smallville and discovered they were predominantly Martha/Lionel. o.O So, I went back and did more.
