Notes: This is an older vid. I thought I had posted it a while ago but realized I hadn't, so here it is.

I think of all the subjects I vid regularly, this movie is one of the most emotionally present for me. I know some people think musicals are hokey, but that's okay. I really have to thank my mom for recording this for me when I was a kid. I'm sure she doesn't remember doing it, much less realize how much the movie has stayed with me, even influencing my writing and the development of many of my protagonists. (Although she probably knew I wanted to marry Captain Von Trapp for a while. *snerk*) I have some others in various stages of completion, but I decided to share these two this weekend. Hopefully a few people will enjoy them as much as I do.

Where Will We Be? is an older vid, relatively speaking, but it's one of those that I consider to be a benchmark for me as a vidder. I'm still pretty proud of the editing, I have to say. I'm not sure why I never shared it before. Maybe I made it during one of my self-imposed fandom exiles or something. Whatever the case, here it is now! Preview image is different from the one in the

Sweet Maria was the product of some random inspiration, and actually it was a bit of a response to the first vid. Ever since I made it, I had been trying to do a Georg/Maria vid that I actually felt satisfied with, and suddenly I realized that I needed to do something more lighthearted because nothing else was going to feel right after the effort and energy that had gone into Where Will We Be?. So, I went for something simple and fun instead of trying to do anything technical. I think it came out pretty well, especially considering that I'd had like zero sleep when I did it. Anyway, 1:00-1:12 would make the whole thing worth watching even if it hadn't.

I've been wanting to do a vid like this for some time now--pretty much ever since my fellow Evil Genius aruna7 first introduced me to the movie No Way Back. Problem was, I didn't have the right song until yesterday. As I was working on my Guy/Marian vid, I began to see this vid taking shape in my mind. So, I guess you could say they are companion vids.

Notes : My grandparents taught me about Jesus when I was young, but the road to my adult decision to serve him was long and difficult. This is for him and for the people who set my feet on that path. The gospel footage comes from The Visual Bible: The Gospel of John, directed by Philip Saville and starring Henry Ian Cusick as Jesus. It's my understanding that Mr. Cusick wrote a book about his experience playing this role, and that he will be portraying Jesus again in The Gospel of Mark. I really hope that whenever Luke is filmed, he'll do it again because I've seen just about every Gospel film ever made and he's one of (if not THE) best actors I've witnessed in this extremely difficult role.

Now that Filefront has returned from oblivion, I'm starting to re-upload the old vids I had stored there. Also, *knock on wood* It looks like Youtube might finally be starting to grasp the concept that fanvids=FAIR USE. Both of these have uploaded and look like the audio plays. Big switch from when they were made! As usual, though, the streaming quality is better on Filefront or MV...

As I mentioned in my last post, I have a new computer. Garibaldi and I seem to have worked out (most) of our kinks, and I finished a vid last night. Also fixed the ending on an older vid from the same fandom, so I decided to upload both. Breaking Up is another one of those obscure movies that no one I know seems to have heard of. It stars Russell Crowe and Salma Hayek, and I really wish the two of them would collaborate on something else so I can do an AU vid entitled "Getting (It) Together." :P
