I'd just thought I'd share something funny with One Path readers. You probably know I've been working on the last leg of the story, and I've come to the section dealing with the rescue of Han from Jabba's palace. One of the things I've had a consistent problem with is making my fingers remember that it's Luke KENOBI in One Path and not Luke SKYWALKER.

I'm typing along and telling myself "Now, remember, when you get to Bib Fortuna's line it's got to be "Luke Kenobi, Jedi Knight." So, I get there, and it's like "Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight." *pause* *backspace* "Luke Skywalker..." *pause!*

I had the same problem when writing Han's line in The Empire Strikes back where he's asking about "Commander Skywalker" I kept typing Skywalker over and over and I was like *headdesk!* Yet at the same time, I watch the movies and keep wondering why Luke is calling Obi-Wan "Ben" instead of "Dad" and I'm constantly going "Wait...why isn't little Ani in this scene?!"

As much as the whole Anakin/Padme relationship just makes my skin crawl, and Star Wars now seems half-empty to me without Ani, my brain will NOT translate Luke's name! Little could I have guessed when I started writing this monster two years ago how fundamentally it would affect my view of the SW universe and its fandom.
